Again we are on the lookout for Young Hopes!

Tender to support Young Hopes from the worlds of art, science, sport and para-sport expires 10 November 2020

This year, Zavarovalnica Triglav and the Vse bo v redu Institute are launching the “Young Hopes 2020” tender, initiating the eighth consecutive year of the project. The tender addresses talented young athletes, para-athletes and artists of between 16 and 19 years of age and promising scientists of between 17 and 20 years of age. The tender expires on 10 November 2020.

The publicly well-known Young Hopes project has an important mission, as it raises funds to support young unestablished talent in the fields of sports, para-sports, art and science. For the young talent, the project is a chance to enhance their abilities, meet the goals they set for themselves and put more effort into expanding their careers.

Young Hopes is being supported by Zavarovalnica Triglav and its institute for socially responsible activities, Vse bo v redu. Since its inception in 2013, the project has successfully supported 88 promising young hopes. Together with the Pro Plus television network, the project has handed out more than EUR 350,000 to young hopes, with each generation having received approximately EUR 50,000. Quite a few fund recipients have gone on to become very successful on the national and even international stage today, among others Tim Gajser, Janja Garnbret, Timi Zajc, Alex Cisar, Nikola Pajanović and Aleksej Jurca.

“We are proud to have recognised their potential and observed their development that is the basis of their unbelievable successes today. At the same time, we are happy that we will be able to present new aspiring and promising Young Hopes from all over Slovenia to the public and use their stories to emphasise the meaning of developing young talent for the future of our society,” said Tjaša Kolenc Filipčič, director of the Vse bo v redu Institute.

Talented young athletes, para-athletes and artists aged between 16 and 19 and promising scientists aged between 17 and 20 can apply for the “Young Hopes 2020” tender, the eighth consecutive year of the Young Hope project. The tender expires on 10 November 2020. A panel consisting of respected experts and a representative of Zavarovalnica Triglav will prepare a shortlist of 20 finalists, which will be published on the www.mladi-upi.si website by the end of November this year. Members of the panel will then choose at least seven gifted individuals from the list. They will all receive funds and one Young Hope will be rewarded based on a public vote on the aforementioned project’s website (www.mladi-upi.si). The winners will be announced in early January 2021.

Resources from the fund are intended especially for those expenses that enable better conditions for the young people’s work, e.g. acquiring additional knowledge and covering expenses for application fees and travelling to conferences, training courses and competitions that have to be paid for by the young talent or their family. Applicants on behalf of the Young Hopes are sports clubs, associations, schools, public institutions and other organisations of which the individuals are members.
