How Triglav impressed me from the very first step

When I first stepped into the world of Zavarovalnica Triglav, I felt like I was entering a story that was both professional and heartfelt. In my experience, the recruitment process at Triglav isn't just a procedure; it's a genuine experience where, at every stage, you realise that you, as a candidate, truly matter.

Experience that builds a foundation for successful work

Before joining Zavarovalnica Triglav, I already had experience working in a company with a complex organisational structure and intricate processes, typical of large enterprises. Due in part to the similarities between the two systems, I quickly grasped the company's dynamics and operations. Nevertheless, Zavarovalnica Triglav completely impressed me with its unique onboarding process, which truly makes a difference. It's a wonderful experience that you don't forget, and it builds the foundation for successful collaboration and a sense of well-being in the workplace.

Triglav throughout my career

It all began much earlier. Interestingly, Triglav has been a presence throughout much of my career. My first permanent job was at an agency at Kotnikova ulica. Every morning, when I stepped off the train, the first thing I saw was that magnificent Plečnik building. I then relocated for work to WTC Ljubljana for a time, and later to the World Expo in Milan, but my path eventually led me back near Triglav, this time to Verovškova ulica. Afterwards, I joined a leading energy company, which was also very close to Triglav's third major Ljubljana location on Dunajska cesta. So, Triglav always somehow remained in my vicinity and eventually became part of my professional home.

Step by step

My journey to Triglav began with an initial telephone conversation with an HR representative, which was warm and sincere. This was followed by an online interview where my future manager and the HR representative impressed me with their professionalism. All this led to an in-person meeting, where the "human" side of Triglav truly came alive. What struck me most was the presence of my future manager from the very first interview. I felt she genuinely cared about who would become part of her team. The three-stage selection process was designed to allow for an in-depth understanding of me as a candidate, while also giving me enough time to learn about the values and culture of the Triglav Group. The feeling that all the effort and energy are invested in mutual satisfaction is invaluable.

Landing in a new team: a unique employment experience!

When I officially became an employee at Triglav, the real story had only just begun. The first few days were full of pleasant surprises: a covered bicycle shed for my cycling adventures even in less favourable weather, a welcome bag, coffee at Zekija's, the morning team meeting, many friendly and sincere smiles from new colleagues, and a tour of Plečnik's architectural creation. It was like an "expedition" where every step was carefully planned to make one feel quickly accepted.

The employment process is exceptionally well thought out. My mentor, who guided me through my first weeks at Triglav, is a combination of an encyclopaedia of knowledge and the best motivational speaker. Together, we explored all aspects of my new role – from the smallest details to major strategic questions. She had an answer for everything I was curious about.

A special part of my induction was also the training for new employees – the Guide to the Triglav Group. Upon arrival, I felt a friendly welcome from the organisers, whose energy and dedication created the impression of a true "caregiver." This comprehensive induction allowed me to better understand the broader context of the Group's operations, which I find invaluable for a successful start. I was also impressed by the rotation between departments, where in a few days I learned about the work of colleagues with whom I will be developing joint projects. This type of experience gave me a sense of connection and encouraged me to think outside the confines of my job role, while also enabling me to establish genuine connections right from the beginning.

Colleagues who make the difference

What surprised me most was how quickly I became part of the team. My colleagues are not just experts in their fields. They are people who know how to create an environment where every individual can truly shine. Their friendliness, openness and willingness to help are the elements that create a work environment to which I gladly return every morning.

What did I take away from this experience?

Although I already have some experience working in various organisations and work environments, I have now learned first-hand how important a good employment process is. It's not just a formality but an opportunity for new employees to quickly feel part of the team and to prepare as effectively as possible for the challenges that await. An experience like the one offered by Zavarovalnica Triglav has impressed me and given me the feeling that I am in the right place.

They say first impressions are the most important – and my impressions of Triglav are exceptional. This isn't just a job; it's a community that cares for its people and encourages their professional growth. From the focus on candidates in the recruitment process, to mentorship and support in the first few months, and the concern for maintaining a work-life balance – Triglav truly strives to create an environment where individuals can thrive.

I am grateful to have become part of the Triglav story. Every day, I am more convinced that this was the right decision.
