Onboarding

All new employees receive a warm welcome when they join us. Upon arrival, they are given a welcome pack. Our new colleagues often highlight the introductory meeting, "A Guide to Triglav," as a particularly valuable part of their onboarding. At this meeting, we introduce ourselves as an employer, and they get a real sense of what it means to be employed by a public limited company and the diverse range of professional fields we cover within the Triglav Group.

Training

Training is fundamental to individual growth, enabling employees to keep pace with change and to be, or remain, competitive and successful in their roles. We offer learning through two main avenues: internal and external training programmes. Our people develop digital skills, acquire specialist knowledge, and learn valuable life skills as well as foreign languages.

Competence Development through Goal Setting

Through goal-oriented management, we ensure every colleague clearly understands our business objectives while simultaneously developing their own competencies. We place particular emphasis on a key 'competency of the year,' which unites us and acts as a behavioural compass, guiding our business journey within the Triglav Group.

Academy for Young Talent

Caring for a Family Member

When an employee faces a difficult situation due to caregiving responsibilities and needs additional emergency leave or to use the time bonus, we do our best to accommodate them. This support has helped many families through challenging times.

Flexible Working Hours

This means that we adjust employees’ start and end times, helping them better balance work and personal commitments.

Reduced Working Hours

Employees who need to care for loved ones but are not entitled to reduced hours under health insurance or parental rights may agree to temporarily reduce their working hours.

Carer's Hours Fund or Time Bonus

This is an additional benefit of approved and paid leave that allows employees to be absent from work to care for family members. It helps employees cope with occasional caregiving responsibilities.

Scholarships and Annuities

We provide scholarships and annuities to the children of our deceased employees or their partners. Young children receive annuities, while pupils and students receive scholarships.

Paid Leave of Absence

This is for extraordinary events where we can provide the right to paid absence from work. Moving house, death in the family, marriage, a child starting primary school, birth, accompanying or caring for a relative are circumstances where we can offer additional extraordinary leave.

Communication with employees

Information about the benefits associated with the certificate is available on the company intranet through articles and notices, as well as the Triglav.smo subpage. Managers play an important role in communication, and employees can also contact the certificate administrator or deputy directly. We promote the philosophy of a family-friendly enterprise across all company channels and levels.

Management training

We offer support to managers and encourage them to promote the benefits of the certificate to their employees in terms of work-life balance and ensuring the well-being of each work group.

Work-life balance group

This group consists of representatives of different generations of employees, who also act as ambassadors for family-friendly practices within our company.

Flexible working hours

Employees who are parents of young children and who accompany them to kindergarten or school may arrive at work later. Employees over 55 and those with a long commute to the workplace may also start their workday later. 

Scholarships and pension support for children of deceased Triglav employees

At Triglav, we help ease the burden for children who have lost a parent. We arrange pension support for them and provide scholarships for secondary school and university studies.

Employment after 55

Employees aged 55+ are invited to attend a medical check-up every three years. This benefit is designed to increase care for their health and encourage preventive care. In addition to flexible working hours, they are also invited to participate in the Health Days programme and receive priority when registering for certain dates throughout the year.


Time bonus or care fund hours

Employees may use up to 40 paid hours per year to help care for loved ones (due to age-related needs, injuries, illnesses, and similar situations).


Part-time employment for reasons of family obligations

At an employee’s request, we allow reduced working hours even when not envisaged by law. This benefit is intended for situations where an employee must provide urgent care for a close family member.


Child time bonus when a child starts kindergarten

Parents receive eight paid hours when their child first starts kindergarten or organised childcare – a small gesture to help make those first days a bit easier for both parents and children. 


Extra days of special leave

This benefit, which we grant for up to five days per year, is welcome when our employees’ close family members need care or assistance but are not eligible for this under their health insurance rights.


Reintegration after a longer period of absence

When employees return from extended sick or maternity leave, we welcome them warmly and inform them about any changes that occurred during their time away. A conversation with their manager and an HR representative helps ensure a smooth transition back to work and daily routines.


New Year gifts for children

Grandfather Frost has quite a long beard around here, as giving end-of-year gifts to employees’ children has long been a tradition. The anticipation, joy and festive spirit always warm the hearts of the children and their parents.

Recognition of the birth of an employee’s child

We are always delighted to hear news about Triglav’s newest arrivals. At this special moment, we like to congratulate colleagues who have welcomed a baby. To mark the occasion, we send them a heartfelt greeting card and a gift to their home with warm wishes for the journey ahead.


E-card for employees on their birthday

On their birthday, employees receive a friendly greeting card that appears on their computer when they log in. 


Holiday camps for the children of employees during school holidays

This is a benefit we have been offering to our employees for a number of years. We carefully organise holiday camps for employees’ primary school children, enabling them to create unforgettable experiences, friendships and bonds. For children with special needs, we reimburse the cost of holidays chosen by their parents.


Health Days

Health Days is a wellness programme at selected spas, fully financed by the company. Through this programme, we actively support employee health and contribute to their well-being and work-life balance.


Internal psychological support

We offer discreet and professional internal psychological assistance for employees experiencing distress. They can speak confidentially with a professional immediately, without waiting and at no cost. Because mental health is essential to the quality of life and work, this benefit can greatly support an individual’s sense of well-being and security.


Teleworking in exceptional cases

In special health-related situations, we allow employees to work from home on an exceptional basis and for a limited period of time. 


Employee training and mental health care

Throughout the year, employees can participate in a variety of workshops and events designed to strengthen psychological resilience. These training opportunities aim to support mental balance, encourage lifelong learning, build connections, promote positive relationships, and contribute to a pleasant atmosphere both at work and in private life.


Time bonus “Doctor”

This benefit provides a fund of eight hours per year for employees who work reduced hours under special regulations.


Occasional work at a nearby location

In special cases, we approve work at a location close to home for certain categories of employees, provided they meet the conditions for this.
