The Triglav Run by MOJtribe invites you to Brdo pri Kranju on Saturday

Those taking part can expect an unforgettable experience in the wonderful natural surroundings of the estate

It’s only a few days until the 14th Triglav Run by MOJtribe. This traditional sporting and social event, organised under the general patronage of Slovenia’s biggest insurer, has been rebranded this year as the Triglav Run by MOJtribe, and will take place on Saturday 12 September in the lovely surroundings of the Brdo pri Kranju estate.

Online registration has already closed, but you may take part in the event by registering in the area where the race bibs are allocated, at Triglav Lab in central Ljubljana and at Brdo pri Kranju itself, as well as on the day of the event (if places are still available).

This year’s run features two new courses and a substantially expanded programme for all generations and lifestyles.

A new partnership for the Triglav Run
This year the Triglav Run embarks on a new chapter, with organisation being taken over by MOJtribe (although Zavarovalnica Triglav will remain the general patron). MOJtribe is the overall branding for active and healthy lifestyles, signalling the event’s move from a traditional running competition to an all-day festival of exercise, fun and charitable giving. It will, of course, retain all those things that have made the Triglav Run so special, including its gorgeous Brdo pri Kranju location, its inclusivity and its focus on helping the community. The event invites runners and walkers to take part in a half-marathon (21 km), 5 and 10 km runs, a 3.3 km family run, and the “Kuža Pazi” runs for children (350 and 700 m). This year’s new additions include the 10 km “MOJ pohod”, aimed at those who would rather walk than run, and the “Biznis tek trojk”, a team race, with each team made up of three runners, for companies and other businesses. The “inclusive route” remains part of this year’s programme. Designed for people with any type of physical disability, it is 1,400 m in length, takes place on a paved surface and is not timed.

Runners and walkers can register in the zone where the numbered bibs are allocated and on the day of the event (as long as places are still available). Bibs can be collected:

  • between 08.00 and 17.00 on Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 September at Triglav Lab (Dunajska 20, Ljubljana)
  • between 16.00 and 19.00 on Friday 11 September at the Brdo pri Kranju venue

by 09.00 on the day of the event (12 September) at the event venue at Brdo pri Kranju (or until all places have been filled).

Expanded programme alongside the run
The accompanying programme of events has been expanded and improved substantially this year. Three round tables will take centre stage: “Becoming a Top Athlete”, which focuses on training and nutrition (with Jakov Fak, Nejc Žnidarčič, Rok Marguč and Nika Vodan), a talk with the Prevc family (Domen, Cene and Peter), and a debate on active and healthy lifestyles (with Alenka Ružič Jovovič and Tamara Lampe).

These will be followed by a talk on diet and nutrition for active lifestyles, “Stable Energy: Food and Habits That Make a Difference”, with Ana Marija Mihelič (Vit Fit by Ana).

The day will start with a series of activities in the “wellness zone”: morning mobility, pilates (with Maja Papež Kovačič), activation training (with Alenka Ružič Jovović) and group warm-ups (with Jan Kovačič). Visitors will also be able to take advantage of the EXPO zone with stands, activities and food (open from 07.00 to 15.00), a branded “Slovenian corner”, and a family zone with free crèche.

In the children’s corner, kids can look forward to interesting guided activities, a “mini Planica” experience and a “mini biathlon”. A fire engine will also be at the venue and available for inspection by enquiring minds, with the aim of highlighting the importance of acting preventively, staying ready and acting in the right way when an emergency situation arises. This activity complements the efforts of Zavarovalnica Triglav, which is a partner of the Firefighting Association of Slovenia, to encourage a greater awareness of safety and make visitors of all generations aware of the importance of acting responsibly for the sake of a safer community.

We are really happy and proud to have taken over the organisation of the Triglav Run this year,” said Polona Brajkovec Kožar, representative of the Triglav Run by MOJtribe organisers. We will be keeping all those things that people love about the day: the wonderful natural surroundings of Brdo, the emphasis on charity and the chance to get together and have fun. But we’re also going to be expanding it into a proper festival of active living for all generations. Because we believe that every step counts, we have added a walk to the programme, together with a three-member team run for businesses and a full accompanying programme that will appeal to the whole family. Come and join us!

As Tjaša Kolenc Filipčič, Zavarovalnica Triglav’s executive director for marketing, communications and customer experience, points out, the Triglav Run has proved for several years now that exercise and physical activity can bring people together and create positive impacts throughout the community. We are proud to be involved with an event that brings together runners, families, business teams, children, walkers and people who perhaps find it more difficult to move around, and thereby realise the values of inclusion and mutual cooperation. The charitable aspect gives the event a special value, enabling us to demonstrate, with the help of everyone taking part, that every kilometre run or walked can contribute to the greater good. We believe that it is events such as these that best promote healthy lifestyles, create connections between people and build a more care-focused and inclusive society.
