The valley below Ponce set to fill with the youngest fans

Triglav Group to take around 4,000 Children of Triglav to Planica

The world’s top ski jumpers are counting down the days until the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup Finals set to take place in the valley below Ponce this weekend. As tradition dictates, our winter sports heroes will first be cheered on by their youngest fans. This year, around 4,000 Children of Triglav from across Slovenia will travel with the country’s largest insurance and financial group to witness this spectacular sporting event. Timi Zajc is one of the many competitors looking forward to their exuberant energy: “Young fans, we certainly won’t be able to fly this far without you! So come to Planica on Thursday and cheer loudly – we want to hear you from the inrun! See you there!”

The Slovenian national team member prepares for the competition in Planica in much the same way as for any other event, though there is always a sense of awe before competing at this iconic venue. And with the enthusiastic roar of the young ski jumping fans, the descent down the giant hill becomes a true pleasure. “Every year, I look forward to the flights in Planica the most, because the fans create an incredible atmosphere. It definitely adds an extra metre to our jumps! The children, especially the youngest ones, cheer the loudest on Thursday. I think all of us competitors are really happy that so many of them come to Planica every year,” said Timi Zajc.

Around 4,000 children will light up Planica

The insurance and financial group, which has been making its clients safer for 125 years, will make sure that the valley below Ponce will be brightened up by the youngest fans once again this year. “At Triglav Group, we have been loyal to Planica for almost six decades, and for almost half a century we have been enabling the youngest fans and their companions to witness ski jumping competitions. Over the years, we have taken around 113,000 Children of Triglav to Planica, and this year we will bring 4,000 more. Through an unforgettable day spent outdoors, we want to show them the value of a healthy and thus life-enhancing lifestyle, while highlighting how sport inspires, unites, and creates positive energy and unique moments,” said Tjaša Kolenc Filipčič, Director of Marketing at Zavarovalnica Triglav.

The Planica 7 trophy drawing competition brings young artists to Planica for the third year

This year, the young fans once again had the opportunity to win a trip to Planica by participating in the Create a Planica 7 Trophy competition. This Thursday, the authors of the drawings that received the highest number of votes in the competition will be cheering on Timi Zajc and other ski jumping stars along with all their classmates. This year’s Planica experience will be co-created by pupils from the primary schools bratov Polančičev Maribor, OŠ Tabor and OŠ Franca Rozmana from Maribor, OŠ Franceta Prešerna and OŠ Staneta Žagarja from Kranj, OŠ Toneta Čufarja from Ljubljana and OŠ Gornja Radgona, OŠ Ljubečna and OŠ Šmartno pri Litiji. On the final day of competitions, the young artist Zala Ban will have the honour of presenting a trophy based on her winning drawing to the ski jumper who earns the highest total points across all seven official series in Planica.
