A Brand New Application on the Slovene Market
The DRAJV application was developed as a telematics-based technological solution, which has already been successfully used by several insurance companies abroad in monitoring, promoting and rewarding safe driving. The aim of Zavarovalnica Triglav is to encourage people to drive safer and improve their driving habits, thereby contributing to better traffic safety. It is the first such application on the Slovene market, which is suitable for all drivers, especially for young or novice drivers.
Benefits of Using the DRAJV Application
Should an individual prove to be a safe driver and their total score is at least 90 points (10 safe journeys and at least 300 km in total), Zavarovalnica Triglav will offer the following benefits:
- a 50% reduction in the surcharge for a young driver (instead of a 30% surcharge only a 15% surcharge shall apply when redeeming the code),
- a 100% reduction in the surcharge for a young driver in combination with attending the Triglav Young Workshop and
- a 5% discount on the entire car insurance premium.
How Does the DRAJV Application Work?
During the recording of driving, the DRAJV application measures speed, deceleration and acceleration and detects any excessive force when making a turn. The application contains preloaded data about speed limits on certain road sections, which enables it to detect all exceeded speed limits during driving. The assessment of driving is affected by how much the speed limit was exceeded – the higher the exceeded speed limit, the lower the assessment of driving. Any deviation from the permitted limits during the rush hours on week days (7–9 A.M. and 3–5 P.M.) in urban areas and at night (11 P.M–5 A.M.) has an additional negative impact on the final score. Therefore, Zavarovalnica Triglav recommends that at these hours drivers are even more careful about their speed and the manner of their driving.
The DRAJV application has been used for almost two weeks, during which time over 2,500 users have been registered. Further information on the application is available at drajv.triglav.si.
