12 talented individuals, the winners of the fund raising campaign Young Hopes 2016 attended the award ceremony held in Ljubljana Kinodvor. The Vse bo v redu (Everything will be all right) Institute of Zavarovalnica Triglav for socially responsible activities shall distribute, among the top 12 talented individuals, 50,000 euros contributed to the Fund by the indicated Institute and POP TV. With this support, young athletes, artists, and scientists will be able to achieve set goals and follow their vision with more ease.
The Young Hopes 2016 tender will help 12 promising young athletes, artists, and scientists, aged between 16 and 19 years, to realise their big dreams and achieve even higher goals. Kaja Kajzer (judo), Jerneja Jenšterle (taekwondo), Kaja Verdnik (snowboarding), Nina Celec (athletics), Neža Klančar (swimming), Aja Jerman Bukavec (rhythmic gymnastics), Dorotea Senica (flute), Žan Milošič Dundek (piano), Jani Leban (percussion), Nikola Pajanovič (violin), Luka Govedič (natural sciences), and Aleksej Jurca (linguistics and astronomy) pointed out that the expert commission and online public award represents a confirmation of previous work, and inspires them with additional motivation and confidence for the future. As they are only working their way to the top and, therefore, as individuals compete harder for professional sponsorship funds, they are extremely grateful for every assistance in the development of their talents.
Youth is the pillar of the world
The award ceremony for talented individuals was attended by the Minister for Education, Science, and Sport, Maja Makovec Brenčič, who designated the assembled young hopes as future creators of our future and said: “There are not many socially-responsible projects in Slovenia that so consistently and widely echo as does Young Hopes. I am pleased that the Vse bo v redu (Everything will be all right) Institute decided to help the talented dedicated and persistent a few years ago - both financially and in terms of knowledge, advice, and experience, which helps young people on the way to achieving their career dreams.”
Help and be an example
The Young Hopes project is organised by Zavarovalnica Triglav for the fourth year in a row. At the completion of the ceremony Marica Makoter, member of the Management Board and Workers Director of Zavarovalnica Triglav and the President of the Management Board of the Vse bo v redu (Everything will be all right) Institute said: “The functioning of the Institute is based inter alia on supporting talented, promising young people from all over Slovenia, who have achieved excellent results and are faced with financial constraints on their way to assertion. With the project, Zavarovalnica Triglav and the Vse bo v redu (Everything will be all right) Institute wish to provide young people a positive example and help them solve current social issues – in this case the lack of funds for the development of promising young people, and to encourage, through their actions and example, other companies and individuals to support talented young individuals.”
Committed to their vision
This year, the expert commission consisted of a sports psychologist mag. Aleš Vičič, athlete Brigita Bukovec, assistant headmistress at the Grammar School Ledina, Helena Osterman, scientist and educator doc. Dr. Robert Repnik, singer Jadranka Juras, headmistress OU Music School of the Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana, Polona Češarek, and Director of Employees Management Service of Zavarovalnica Triglav, Metoda Debeljak. “All generations of young hopes are excellent. I believe that the first group set a high level of quality in 2013, and each year the quality is high, or even upgraded. Life stories of young talented individuals differ and it is worth getting to know them. What they have in common is the commitment to their vision and great achievements. In this, they are so convinced that they will succeed,” explained Helena Osterman, assistant headmistress at the Grammar School Ledina.
The Young Hopes project, whose aim is to present aspiring individuals to the general public and to highlight through their ambitions the importance of developing young talents for the future, has recently reached the finals of the Best of the Best programme, through which AmCham Slovenia presents and rewards the best business practices in the economy, namely the best project within the Motivation thematic set.
