Looking for a new running challenge? Try the Triglav Run!

Registration is now open for the 11th Triglav Run, which will take place on 9 September in the beautiful natural surroundings of the Brdo Estate near Kranj

This year, the most enthusiastic running fans have already warmed up and tested their fitness. Are you one of those who are already looking for a new challenge? Maybe you're just looking for the right one for you? Coming up on 9 September 2023 is the unique Triglav Run, which for the 11th time now is opening the door to the pristine natural surroundings of Brdo Estate near Kranj. The event, which combines charity with a passion for sport and the outdoors, once again invites runners of all abilities and ages to take part in six running categories. Registration is now open.

The Triglav Run invites experienced runners to take part in the 21 km half marathon and the 10 km run, while fans of shorter running challenges can again opt for the 5 km run. The latter was very well attended last year, when it was first offered by the organisers. For those who like to win as a team, there will be a 3 x 3.4 km relay race for teams of three and, to keep things dynamic and packed with action, the Triglav Run will once again feature a 3.4 km family run and the 350 m and 700 m Willy Watchdog runs for children.

On the event website runners can check the difficulty and special features of each race, choose their route, and register for the 11th Triglav Run here. Early-bird registration, which is the cheapest option, is available until 18 August, after which the registration fee will be higher. Registration is open until 3 September. It will also be open on the day of the event until all the places are filled.

What makes the Triglav Run so special?
There are many running events, but only the Triglav Run opens the door to the heart of the Slovenian government protocol estate at Brdo near Kranj and its park. A park that, with its mystery and remoteness from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, captivates visitors with its cultural and natural heritage. Rather than hot asphalt city streets or a mountain run, the participants of the Triglav Run can look forward to well-maintained running trails through unspoilt nature that are a true balm for the soul. From the start in front of the main event venue, most of the routes first run for approximately 400 metres inside Brdo Park. They then turn into a closed part of the hunting area, where participants run alongside beautiful lakes in pristine natural surroundings, which are home to a variety of wildlife. So, after running across the calm and serene little plains, with a few gentle climbs, your heart may also start racing because you've spotted an animal.

By taking part in the Triglav Run, runners also contribute to charity, as Zavarovalnica Triglav has been donating funds to healthcare institutions at the event for many years. In total, it has donated nearly EUR 159,000 so far. At the same time, the Triglav Run is one of the activities through which the insurance company encourages the general public and its employees to adopt a healthy lifestyle and exercise, which contribute significantly to both psychological and physical wellbeing. Every year the event is joined by a number of top Slovenian athletes – the Triglav Run ambassadors – who help promote its cause. The event also helps fulfil the goals of the Securing the Future project, thus forming part of Zavarovalnica Triglav’s sustainable operations. This year, the organisers of the Triglav Run will again pay special attention to sustainability.

Every year, top athletes and amateur runners of all ages create a wonderful sports and social event by taking part in a variety of social, sporting and entertainment activities accompanying the Triglav Run.
