Children of Triglav on new playground in Hrastnik

The settlement of Novi dom has been enriched with a new, safe multipurpose playground

In the scope of its socially responsible project, Children of Triglav, Zavarovalnica Triglav continues to erect and renovate children’s playgrounds throughout Slovenia for the fourth consecutive year. The Municipality of Hrastnik, more precisely the settlement of Novi dom, can now boast of a new playground. The leading Slovenian insurance company has thus contributed to a more pleasant and safer environment for children.

A morning gathering at the playground in the settlement of Novi dom in Hrastnik was marked by fun and games for kids, Zavarovalnica Triglav’s mascot Watch Out Doggie and a ceremony to open the new multipurpose playground, whose purchase was facilitated by Zavarovalnica Triglav. Children aged three to eight years will be able to enjoy hours of carefree fun and games on the new safe playground equipment, which includes a slide, tower and swings.

For a stimulating and safe childhood

The opening ceremony for the renovated playground was headed by Mojca Brečko, Director of Zavarovalnica Triglav’s Trbovlje Regional Unit, Miran Jerič, Mayor of the Municipality of Hrastnik, and the playground’s ambassador, Peter Kauzer, a member of the Kayak Association of Slovenia, a partner organisation of Zavarovalnica Triglav. ”It is a tradition at Zavarovalnica Triglav to connect with the local environment in which we are operating. We are aware of the fact that children are an extremely important part of the environment, as it is today’s children who will someday shape our future. We understand the right to safe and carefree play is one of the fundamental conditions for their development. We therefore support these types of socially responsible activities with the aim of ensuring that children enjoy themselves and develop their potential to the maximum extent possible, and express themselves in a stimulating, healthy and safe environment,” said the Director of Zavarovalnica Triglav’s Trbovlje Regional Unit.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Hrastnik Miran Jerič added, “The Municipality of Hrastnik has led efforts to maintain and build playgrounds for several years. We have built a total of 18 playgrounds and thus provided children with safe and carefree places to play. The funds for these activities were secured exclusively from the municipality’s budget. It therefore brings us that much more pleasure that Zavarovalnica Triglav came to our aid this year in the form of a donation. The insurance company has once again demonstrated its social responsibility and awareness that more than just business models and fruitful marketing techniques are required to achieve success; success also requires activities to strengthen social relations. During these times of crisis, we are particularly aware of how important the contribution of the commercial sector is to our collective development.”

Carefree on 15 playgrounds

The playground in the settlement of Novi dom in the Municipality of Hrastnik represents the fifteenth time Zavarovalnica Triglav has contributed in this way. Over the last four years, Slovenia’s largest insurance company has helped renovate playgrounds in the following locations: a primary school in Krško, sports parks in Brezovica, Drežnica nad Kobaridom, the Drska sports association, Visoko, Škrilje, Zapotok, Golo and Mežica, a primary school in Stražišče pri Kranju, the Gorica primary school in Velenje, the Oton Župančič daycare centre in Slovenska Bistrica, and the mountain lodges at Sveti Jošt nad Kranjem and on Tamar. The objective of the Children of Triglav project, which is being implemented by the insurance company for the fourth year, is to enable children to play in a safe, clean and beautiful environment, and offer them the best possible opportunities for their development. With the aim of ensuring that young children are more playful, lively, cheerful and satisfied. To ensure that they are simply happier at play.
